Shibori Silk Jewellery Workshop with Glenys Oxley
Saturday 28 April, 11am to 2pm
Cost: £35.00 per person (includes all materials)
Join us for this one-off weekend workshop with jeweller Glenys Oxley. Working with delicate Japanese silk ribbon, beads and other accessories you'll learn how to create your own small piece of jewellery or make a start on something larger to continue at home.
All materials will be provided and Glenys will be on hand to guide you through the various techniques to get you on your way to making something unique.
Shibori is a Japanese technique of dyeing and puckering silk ribbon creating a dazzling 3D effect. We will be working with silk which has been prepared in advance to create some stunning and wearable works of art! Participants will be shown how to create a piece of jewellery using the shibori silk, seed beads and pearls, with instructions on how to finish the piece at home (as glue has to dry for several hours).
Places are limited so booking is essential.
Due to small needles and parts this workshop is not suitable for children.
