We are excited to be working with the West Cumbria Rivers Trust to bring you a chance to discover more about the local environment in a year-round series of events for the whole family - from pond and river dipping, to family walks, litter picks and discovery trails.
Our next events are listed below. These are FREE events, however, places are limited so you must book in advance to attend. Call 01946 824946 , email email@example.com or call into FAC during opening hours to book.
Events will go ahead, even if it's raining, so dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots or wellies.
Events are FREE but please book in advance as we need to have confirmed numbers in order to plan and organise these events. Timings are approximate. Please wear sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothes.

Adult wildlife walk
Join us for a circular walk along the river Ehen from Florence Arts Centre. The walk is approximately 4.5 miles, and whilst mostly flat, does involve a steep decent about half way around. We will chat about the wildlife we see on the way. This walk is aimed at adults, but check out out list of events for more family-friendly activities.
Friday 10 August, 10am to 12noon OR 1pm to 3pm
Short (2 mile) family walk

Long (4 mile) family walk
Join us for a longer family walk by the river where we will aim to reach a good climbing tree and do silly challenges along the way. The walk is flat and around 4 miles but not circular. We will eat lunch together by the river (bring your own packed lunch). This walk is aimed at families who are able to walk longer distances at a slow pace.

Overnight camp with wildlife activities
Join us for a family overnight camp at Florence Arts Centre where we will do an early evening stroll, take part in some wildlife activities like pond dipping and bug hunting, set up a moth trap, and listen for bats. The evening meal will be a bring and share, and a cold breakfast and drinks will be provided. Get in touch if you don’t have a tent and would like to take part as we might be able to provide one. Booking is essential as places are limited. Please get in touch with Florence Arts Centre
