Graffiti art by Young Cumbria, a youth work organisation that works with young people aged 11-19yrs to create lasting and positive change in their lives through a variety of different programs and activities.

Be(e) the first to see Young Cumbria's graffiti wall designed esepcialy for the Get Cumbria Buzzing Day - and have a go at stencilling your own bees using Sarah Taylor's stencils!

Over the last two years we have delivered a programme of activities that encourage young people to explore their creativity through the use of street art/graffiti, these workshops look at a variety of social issues and encourage young to reflect and grow their understanding of the world whist at the same time developing their ability to express this through the medium of art. Alongside this we encourage the group to undertake community based work, painting murals and putting their spray painting skills into action, this empowers the group to design & deliver the work and has a hugely positive impact on young peoples self esteem and helps create a sense of community pride through art.

Our Street art group meet every week in Workington and we are always keen to recruit new enthusiastic young people to take part, no art experience is necessary just a willingness to learn and work with others.

Hen Ogledd Glass will be offering drop-in workshops throuhgout the day including glass painting (£5), creating bug suncatchers - ideal for younger people - and a lampworking session (£10) which entails melting glass rods to create a little bee plant pot buddy (only available for ages 12+). There is no need to book our courses as they will be drop in sessions on the day.
