a new exhibition by fabricate: the textile group from the western fells
Wednesday 20 June to Saturday 21 July
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm
This summer Florence hosts the first exhibition from fabricate, a new group of textile artists based here in West Cumbria.
interwoven will feature the work of seven artists - Sue Cosham, Sue Jackson, Mary Ann Lancaster, Ruth Moore, Jenni Payne, Ruth Waterhouse and Emma Wigginton - crossing the boundaries of textiles and stitchcraft and fusing traditional crafts with 21st century creativity.
The work on show is inspired by our heritage, interpreted in textile art, and includes work in many disciplines - felting, printing, rag-rugging, quilting, embroidery and more.
Each artist brings their own unique take on the over-riding theme and the pieces range from the commercial - embroidered pictures, felted landscapes - to the personal and experimental. There is sure to be something to enlighten and inspire in this colourful exhibition from fabricate: the textile group from the western fells.
