Amy Ferguson; 'Tell us your Story'

"Tell us your story!" Residencey by Amy Ferguson, Wednesday 26th Febuary- Wednesday 4th March

Florence Arts Centre is looking for people to share their memories and stories of the site for

an oral history project.

The project has been organised by local artist, Amy Johnson, and the recordings will be

made available at an exhibition from the 4 April – 9 May, as well as being retained in the

archive at Florence Arts Centre. Amy commented;

   “We want to capture a true sense of place by recording the stories and memories of those

who have visited or worked at Florence Mine or Florence Arts Centre. Whether you have

fond memories of working or volunteering at the site, or memories of a cold and bleak school

trip, we want to hear them all! We welcome every story; from the significant and life changing

to the small and everyday”.

Recording sessions will be held at the Florence Arts Centre between 26 February and 4

March, except for Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 March when the centre is closed. Drop-in

visitors are welcome, or you can pre-book in advance.

Participants who are unavailable to attend a recording session in person are welcome to

record their story digitally and submit by email.
