An Introduction to Needlefelting

Saturday 24 June, 1pm to 3pm

To accompany our exhibition, A Diversity of Threads, participating artists will be holding a series of workshops and demonstrations giving you the chance to try your hand at techniques and see the inspiration behind the work.
At this free afternoon workshop, Ruth Moore will be hosting an introduction to needlefelting, giving you the chance to create your own needlefelted Herdwick sheep on a tweed, wool or felt background.
You'll learn the basics of needlefelting which you can continue at home and you'll be able to take away your unique handmade felted sheep. Materials are included but you are welcome to bring your own fabric onto which you will attach your needlefelting.
Suitable for all levels, whether you have tried needlefelting before or not - due to the use of sharp needles we'd recommend over 12s only  - under 16s must be accompanied. For younger participants Ruth will also be able to show how to make wet-felted soaps (no needles required!)
The workshop is free but please book a place so we know how many people to expect and so Ruth can prepare materials: phone 01946 824946 or email
