Once again, this October, Florence Arts Centre will be taking part in the nationwide festival of drawing: The Big Draw.
This year’s theme has just been announced: Living Lines
Open to wide range of interprepations, this year’s Big Draw Festival is designed to get your marks moving! Whether you decide to get animated, theatrical, illusionary, technical or messy we can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeves…
For as long as we’ve been able to draw we’ve been depicting motion. The Chavet Cave in France contains drawings made some 30,000 years ago illustrating bison charging in a herd, an effect achieved by layering images – not that far removed from how we still do it today!
… everything from stop-motion and animation to flick-books and interpretation of movements of all forms can be included, but keep an eye out on this page for updates of our own Big Draw Day: Friday 27 October, where you’ll able to come along to FAC and get creative.
The Big Draw is open to everyone of all ages and abilities. Last year we saw over 100 people at Florence drawing on the them of science, technology, engineering, art and maths. We hope we see you this year for more fantastic bursts of imagination!
